Graphic Designer and Digital Artist Daniel Schooler

Specialising in illustration and visual communication, Southport-based creative Daniel Schooler graduated from Norwich School of Art & Design (NSAD) with a degree in Graphic Design back in 2004. Now concentrating on digital work, Dan spends most of his time creating editorial designs, gig posters and concept-driven pieces.

“After University I travelled Spain extensively where I worked on a variety on freelance projects until eventually landing myself a job with a Fashion & Lifestyle magazine in Barcelona. Back then all my work was hand-on; pencils, pens, textiles, spray paint, screen prints, inks and oils just about anything that made a mark. This was also my introduction to editorial illustration.”

“Since moving back the England several years ago my work has become almost exclusively digital, however I am still a big believer in using a sketchbook whatever your craft. That’s the place where I can catch those fleeting initial ideas and explore those all-important concepts that drive my work. Once I feel I’ve exhausted my sketches and scrawls, I use Photoshop to further develop the imagery and the communication.

Outside of the editorial work I also create gig posters for shows and festivals as well as album art work and merchandise for bands. I’d like to continue to develop my skill set and craft as an illustrator and grow my client base through any freelance agents that feel they can represent me both at home in the UK and overseas.”
