Surface Pattern Design by Sarah Savage

Following an art Foundation course, Sarah Savage went on to graduate with a BA(Hons) degree in Visual Arts in 2003. To further explore her love of textiles and embroidery, Sarah has since started to concentrate on surface pattern design, some projects of which we’re pleased to showcase here today.

“I used to sell digital collage sheets via Etsy. People used these sheets to decorate fabric and textiles and some even used them in their photographic work. I decided this was an area I would like to explore and develop my skills in.”

“So in the past year I have changed career direction and decided to make more use of my artistic skills that helped me gain a Visual Art degree. I have recently diversified into surface pattern design due to recently completing The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design e course run by Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls. My love of textiles, embroidery, building structures and colour influence my work.”

“I am currently looking for freelance surface pattern design opportunities and I am based in Lancashire, in the North West of England, UK. I would like to find an agent who would help me find creative surface design opportunities.”
