This series focuses on a group of teenage girls between the ages of 13-16. At this age, they are classed as neither child nor adult and seem to be stuck in an in-between. The images display juxtaposition between the sexualisation of these girls alongside traits of their childhood. Their actions and environment show characteristics of both the girls’ desperation to grow up but still retaining aspects of their youth. From getting ready for a party to the decoration of their rooms, the series portrays the different attributes of a typical teenage girl in Britain.

I am an editorial/ documentary photographer who has just graduated from Blackpool and the Fylde College with a BA (Hons) Photography degree.I aim to photograph people within our society, concentrating on how others construct and live out their daily lives. I intend to capture peoples’ character through portraiture as well as focusing on their environments.

Susie is currently searching for photographic opportunities and the extension of her career after completing her studies. She hopes to move further south and be based in the capital to make the most of her skills and work in a busy creative city.

  1. I LOVE Susie’s photos. She captures the innocence, confusion and pathos of the turbulent teens in still photographs. Powerful work. Good job!
