Just as we thought spring was just around the corner we get a gush of the big freeze hit us direct from Siberia, so for the next few weeks I’m thinking it’s time to pack away the denim shorts, sandals and crops to make room for the wools and wellies.

Lucky for us Topshop’s mid-season sale has just started where literally almost all of their winter knitwear prices have been slashed. Here are just two of my favourite pieces; the neon yellow is now £18 and the fluorescent pink just £10 both reduced from £32, with both colours and shape fitting perfectly in with this spring’s take on the urban sportswear trend.

You can never beat a piece of stripy knitwear. It carries through seasons as I literally cannot remember the last time nautical trends were not evident across the high street. River Island on Asos has this great jumper at just £25. H&M, Zara, Primark and Miss Selfridge are all also great for affordable, on-trend knitwear buys.

This week my Hunters wellies from summer have also proven to come in extremely handy. I bought them last August for V festival and have never appreciated them more than I have these past few days. With a pair of woolly socks underneath my feet have remained dry and warm throughout the snowy period and I can wear them again during this summer’s festivals, I would highly recommend them to anybody and they also come in a variety of colours and styles.

This week I have also been loving Lana Del Rey. The girl of the moment not only has an absolutely fascinating voice but her wardrobe is just as interesting and has in fact landed her on this month’s cover of UK Vogue. Just like me the American singer loves a good denim hotpant and cropped T, which she has swapped for a Louis Vuitton summer dress for March’s UK edition of the most famous fashion magazine in the world. The shoot shows her looking extremely angelic as she flaunts her supermodel looks. Del Ray has also recently signed with Next Model Management alongside the likes of Jessie J, Ellie Goulding and Alexa Chung.

Her style does vary significantly, however no matter what she wears she still always seems to look flawless. She is feminine yet edgy and has proven to love a good vintage number. Here are a few of my favourite looks she has rocked down to a tee:

If these images are anything to go by, then Lana Del Rey will most definitely be a regular throughout our fashion publications for the foreseeable future.

Next week’s article will be a review of the Annual Spring fashion Show which I will be attending this week in Manchester, where a number of up and coming designers will be showcasing their latest collections. Thank you for reading.
