‘Tis the Season! Sparkly Festive Numbers to Shine at This Year’s Christmas party.

The festive season is finally upon us and to celebrate, for this week’s article I have hand-picked twelve must have party dresses perfect for the Christmas period.

All things metallic, sequined and embellished are a must this winter as ‘sparkle and shine’ becomes a huge seasonal trend. Whether it be designer, high street or budget, almost every brand across the industry have quite a number of key sparkle and shine pieces great for the party season.

This week I have been on the lookout for some amazing metallic dresses, some designer pieces that are well worth splashing out on along with some more affordable high street wonders. Here are just a few of my favourites:

Left: Sequined silk mini by Marchesa. £3,465 Right: Sequin-embellished crepe dress by Vince. £440

Left: Rachel Gilbert, Shayla tulle gown. £995 Middle: River Island, gold sequined maxi, £50. Right: Tibi, metallic stretch-Jersey maxi dress, £335.

Both French Connection Left: Lucinda sequin fitted dress, £150. Right: Starstruck asymmetric, £220.

Left: H&M, sequined dress with deep draping back, £29.99. Middle: Karen Millen, beaded dress, £350. Right: Oasis, black sequined skater, £60.

Left: Topshop Dress Up range, Midnight glare dress, £175 (As seen on Tulisa Contostavlos). Right: Mango, black sequined dress, £114.90

That’s just a few of my favourite party dress spots for this week. ASOS, Topshop and Zara have more on offer, some fully embellished and some a more toned down version of this trend with just shoulder detailing, rather than the whole garment.

Temperatures as always have once again drastically dropped, so perfect to stay warm whilst en route to the Christmas party this year is this black Topshop crepe skirted mac at just £89. It’s a great buy especially as it holds similarities to the ones by All Saints and Acne. Then, to complete the outfit I’ve found a number of great ankle boots to ensure your feet look great, whilst retaining the warmth and comfort for the whole night. Topshop have these absolute beauties on offer as a part of their Premium range. At just £140 they’re great, plus extremely versatile to wear teamed with a dress for a night on the town as well as your day-to-day.

Another personal favourite, again from the Topshop Premium collection are these £150 studded numbers, very Louboutin-esque I think. However, if these two aren’t quite the look you wanted to go for I found a great pair from Zara. These platform ankle boots are just £59.99 and the gold heel detailing matches them up perfectly with the themes of this season’s wardrobe:

Left: Topshop Premium Right: Zara platforms

Hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s article and I hope I’ve inspired you to sport the ‘sparkle and shine’ trend during this year’s festivities!
